IMF satisfied with good results of Serbia – Government praised for implementing difficult reforms

Tao Zhang, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), praised the Government of Serbia in Washington for its hard work and efforts to strengthen the local economy and implement difficult reforms, the Ministry of Finance of Serbia reported.

He said that the financial institution intended to continue providing intensive support to the Government of Serbia.

– The IMF will continue supporting Serbia in its future steps in implementing reforms leading to increased trust of investors and a potential medium-term growth – Zhang pointed out.

During his meeting with the National Bank of Serbia Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic and Minister of Finance Dusan Vujovic, he added that the cooperation between the Government of Serbia and the IMF was successful in all areas and that it was expected to continue likewise in the next period.

The topic of the meeting, held as part of the spring session of the IMF and the World Bank, was analysis of results achieved in implementing the measures defined in the precautionary arrangement signed by Serbia with the IMF.
