The Ministry of Sustainable Development of Montenegro has issued a building permit for the construction of the section and the tunnel on the Bar-Boljare highway route.

The section consists of the Zagradje bridge and tunnels Djurilovac and Mrki Krs, with accompanying open route parts on the priority section of the Bar-Boljare highway from Smokovac to Matesevo. These sections, as stated in the decision by the Ministry of Sustainable Development, are located in the area of cadastre municipalities of Lopate and Lijeva Rijeka, Pobjeda reports.

– The Zagradje Bridge consists of two bridges, one for each lane of the highway. The left bridge is 100 meters long, whereas the right one is 146 meters long – the decision states.

Tunnels Djurilovac and Mrki Krs consist of two separated tunnel pipes for each direction. The length of the right tunnel pipe of the Djurilovac tunnel is 390 meters, whereas the left one is 499 meters. The length of the right tunnel pipe of the Mrki Krs tunnel is 592 meters, and the left one is 717 meters.

The construction works on this subsection encompass the construction of the two local road deviations, structures with culverts and load-bearing structures, as well as the protection of the slopes and the drainage system.

The decision also states that the construction works on the subsection are to be carried out in line with the main project, authored by the main structural designer, civil engineer Tingzhi Peng. China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), Podgorica-based companies Geo Max and Ingenium and the Pljevlja-based company Putin are the contractors.

The construction of the priority section Smokovac-Uvac-Matesevo, 41-kilometers long, started on May 11, 2015, which marked the start of the four year deadline period given to the Chinese companies to complete the works.

The construction of this section will cost Montenegro EUR 809 million, and 16 tunnels, 13 bridges, 5 viaducts and 4 interchanges will be built.
