Research works started in Tijanje field - decision about construction of Steam Power Plant "Dragačevo" to follow
In Tijanje field, not far away from Guča and Lučani, the research works have commenced before the decision is made about construction of Steam Power Plant "Dragačevo", which should have between 110 and 130 MW and use about 1.2m tons of coal per year.
The experts of "Mineral investment" from Belgrade are now checking the reserves of earlier discovered coal layer on locations "Rudnica" and "Jezero", which are estimated to about 43m tons.
According to previous information, local lignite could be used for the needs of steam power plants within the next 25 years.
The preliminary project anticipates that the construction of steam power plants and accompanying facilities at 200 ha will take seven years and that it costs about 400m EUR.
Future Steam Power Plant "Dragačevo" should hire about 1,000 workers and it should have the state-of-the-arts devices for prevention of emmission of harmful gases.
These data were presented during the stay of the representatives of company EFT, registered in Great Britain, in Lučani. One of the people in that delegation was the President of EFT, Vuk Hamović. He confirmed EFT's interest in investing in construction of future power plant if the researches justified expectations.
Mayor of Lučani, Slobodan Jolović, said that, following the completion of all research works and calculations, the decision about construction of power plant in Tijanje could be made by the end of the year.
