Italians interested in Cacak-based foundry Tehnos – Decision on five-year lease to be reached in May 2017

The owner of Unipromet and the president of the Economic Council of the City of Cacak, Milisav Novicic, said while guesting on TV Telemark that negotiations with a big Italian company about initiating the production in former Tehnos facilities were in progress.

As Novicic said, the Italians want to take over the former foundry, adapt it and employ at least 50 people.

– In the past few months, we’ve been talking with and Italian company which wants to take over the former Tehnos foundry. They intend to rent it for five years and adapt it to suit their production program. If we complete the talks successfully, they will employ 50 people, and our condition is for the net salary not to be below RSD 50,000. After five years, the city would consider whether to sell the line to them or cancel the cooperation – Novicic explained and said that the negotiations should be completed by the end of the month.

A part of Tehnos’ premises is now used by Komunalac, but there are efforts to move this public enterprise to another location.
