Google has developed a service which automatically sends photographs to people featured in them. The app will be able to identify friends and family members using a face-recognition system.

Users will have the option of allowing automatic sharing of photographs. If they choose to turn this option off, they will receive requests from other people looking to share their photographs.

The innovations were announced by manager Anil Sabharwal at a Google conference held in California.

The company also presented Google Lens, a new service which recognizes the content of photographs. For example, it can provide information about the building featured in the analyzed photograph.
