IKEA department store in Belgrade to open its doors August 10 - Job for 406 people, EUR 80 m invested

It willbe jubilee 400th IKEA department store in the world.

IKEApoured EUR 70 m in equipping the facility located in Bubanj potok and EUR 10 mmore in infrastructure construction.

IKEA has alreadyhired 246 people and by opening they are planning to have 406.

- We finishedrecruitment process and the remaining colleagues will join us in the upcomingweeks– Vanoverbeke said.

Vanoverbekesays that Belgrade "has been for a long time at the business operations expansion map’ ofthe company and reminds that in 1991 IKEA opened a small shop at the Hyatthotel but it also closed it after only a year.

- At themoment, we have two department stores in the region, in Zagreb and Bucharest. AfterBelgrade, we will open another department store in Bucharest and the first onein Ljubljana and by 2025 we are planning to have 12 department stores in theregion – he said.
