Comments
(Aleksandar Vucic) President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said in Istanbul that the trade between Serbia and Turkey was growing year by year and noted that President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan would bring 150 businessmen to Serbia so that they would establish business contacts with Serbian businessmen.
After the meeting with Erdogan in Istanbul, Aleksandar Vucic said that he believed that his Turkish colleague would visit Serbia very soon and that he had asked him to visit Serbia for several days, so that they could discuss all regional and political topics.
– President Erdogan told me that he would bring along at least 150 businessmen from various sectors, to first cooperate with our business sector, to establish personal and business contacts, whereas we should address them in order to stimulate further cooperation – Vucic said.
The president said that the trade between Serbia and Turkey was growing year by year and that he expected the growth to continue.
– I talked to Turkish companies interested in the textile industry, privatization of our spas and some other areas in which Turkish investors weren't so interested previously – Vucic said.
He added that he believed that, with Erdogan's and Turkey's support, it would bring new results, increase employment and lead to a bigger growth of Serbia's GDP, which, as he says, is of great importance for the country.
Vucic also pointed out that Turkey was one of the countries most important for full regional stability and peace.
The meeting in Istanbul was the first official bilateral meeting of Vucic and the current president of Turkey.
