Thanks to the aid by the Ministry of Economy, through the Program of Support to Development of Business Infrastructure for 2017, the third industrial zone in the “town of economic miracles”, which has maintained its factories, unlike many other areas, is being developed – points out Mayor of Gornji Milanovac Dejan Kovacevic.

The youngest industrial zone has been named Milovanovica Cair, taking up 12 hectares in the suburban settlement of Velerec – next to the Ibar Highway towards Belgrade and along the river Despotovice, five kilometers away from the town’s center. Spektar, S Group, Dam 93, construction companies Svin and Interplet Gradnja are already operating successfully there. Until the beginning of the development of the infrastructure in the new zone, especially the capacities for transporting waste waters to the treatment system, and Gornji Milanovac is one of the rare towns that has had one for decades, the investors weren’t exactly rushing to build facilities there. That will all change now.

– The projected value of Milovanovica Cair is RSD 28 million, and the development of the sewer will cost about 12 million. The Ministry of Economy has set aside 60% of the amount needed, and the municipality will provide the remaining 40%. The completion deadline period is 75 days and the collector system from that zone will, in addition to Velerec, connect suburban settlements Svrackovci and Nevad to the town’s city sewer system. The connection is planned to be located at the main collection center on the right bank of the Despotovica – Kovacevic explains.

Let us remind that Gornji Milanovac has had two industrial zones for decades now. The northern one features, among others, parts of the clothing company Rudnik, the tableware company Metalac and its FAD, whereas the southern one boasts Tetra Pak, what’s left of PIK Takovo, the graphics company Tipoplastic, shopping centers...

– We are convinced of the multiple benefits of a detailed development of the Milovanovica Cair zone. Economically, this will create infrastructural requirements for further development of the companies currently in it and a quick construction of new ones, leading to many more jobs. We believe that this will contribute to young people’s staying in their home area and putting a stop to negative demographic trends in the municipality and the region. Ecologically, the waste water pollution will be considerably reduced – concludes Kovacevic.

Srcanik to be raised too

There is increasingly more talk about another, fourth industrial zone in the heart of the Rudnik-Takovo area – in the Srcanik location: from Milanovac towards Takovo, close to Corridor 11. As the mayor confirms, plans and the necessary paperwork for it are already being prepared and the financial arrangement is being worked out...

Vucic’s promise

– As soon as the new industrial zone is completed and opened, I will bring a profitable factory here – President Aleksandar Vucic announced before the residents, local authorities and numerous members of the press during his recent visit to Gornji Milanovac.
