The Atlantic Group reported today that it was selling its production capacities and the production of private trademarks from the sports and active nutrition segment to Belgium's Aminolabs Group, while keeping the Multipower brand.
– To the end of a further restructuring and simplification of the operations in the sports and active nutrition segment and placing a focus on its own brands, the Atlantic Group has decided to sell factories in Germany (Bleckede) and Croatia (Nova Gradiska) and the private label production tied with them to the Belgian company Aminolabs Group – the press release says.
The transaction amounts to around EUR 27 million, of which the payment of EUR 20.3 million is to follow immediately after the signing of the agreement, whereas the rest is to be paid in the next two years. The transaction is expected to be completed in the final quarter of 2017, the press release adds.
The Atlantic Group will remain a minority partner in the Nova Gradiska facility, and strategic brands Multipower, Champ and Multaben have been set aside as a special unit and will remain 100% owned by the Atlantic Group, it is added.
The Aminolabs Group specializes in development and production of innovative concepts in the field of food supplements and acts as a supplier to numerous renowned international health food companies. It is headquartered in Hasselt, Belgium, and has two modern production facilities with a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certificate, located in Hasselt and Zottegem. Aminolabs operates in 36 countries across the globe, and its clients include numerous renowned brands, online stores and retail and pharmaceutical chains, says the press release by the Atlantic Group.
