Chairman of Hesteel Group to visit Serbia on July 17

The chairman of the Hesteel Group, Yu Yong, will visit Serbia on Monday, July 17, 2017, when he is to meet Serbian Minister of Economy Goran Knezevic, as confirmed by the minister for Danas.

He pointed out that it was a regular half-year visit by the Chinese owner of Zelezara Smederevo and that there were no covert activities going on.

According to the newspaper, Brussels is formulating measures against the competition of Chinese steel mills, because a range of countries, including Serbia, are suspected of price dumping in the steel industry. For this reason, it intends to prescribe the price threshold below which the sale of these raw materials will be forbidden in the EU.
