Serbia has become the 25th country of the network of international bus lines of the European startup FlixBus. The first steps in Serbia were enabled through cooperation with the regional partner, Fudeks, the company reported.
Thanks to the existing Fudeks international lines which were included in the green network early this week, passengers have been provided with over 200,000 daily connections to 1,200 destinations in 24 European countries.
– This is our first step towards Serbia and we are relying on 21 years of experience of our regional partner Fudeks, which meets the high criteria and bus quality standards and is in line with FlixBus' safety requirements – said Darko Jus, Managing Director of FlixBus CEE.
He added that “although we won't be providing full service in line with the FlixBus standards in these initial stages of cooperation with our partner, passengers will still benefit from a wide network of lines that have been made available to them, from quality buses to online ticket purchase at attractive prices across the green network”.
In addition to Belgrade, the networked towns in Serbia include Veliko Gradiste, Negotin, Svilajnac, Novi Sad and Pozarevac. All the available destinations, schedules and price lists can be found on FlixBus' web page. The tickets are available through the page and a mobile app, and a list of sales outlets throughout Serbia will be published soon as well.
– By entering this wide green network of bus lines and through mutual cooperation, we have secured the two-way connection of Serbia and the rest of Europe. Furthermore, the FlixBus platform enables our passengers to use some new online ticket purchase channels. We welcome all the new passengers whom we have brought closer to Serbia this way, enabling a multitude of combinations of traveling and connecting destinations – stated Srdjan Draca, director of the leasing sector of Fudeks.
In addition to initiating the cooperation with its regional partner, FlixBus has also opened an office in Belgrade, which currently has 4 permanent employees.
