Mild growth in lending in Serbia in July 2017

The total corporate, enterprise and retail loans in Serbia amounted to around RSD 2,219 billion, an increase by 0.9% compared to the end of June, the Association of Serbian Banks announced. Corporate loans amounted to around 1,328 billion and are 1.5% higher than in June.

Retail loans increased by 0.1% to around RSD 841 billion, whereas loans to entrepreneurs increased by 0.3% to RSD 51 billion.

Among the retail loans, cash loans recorded the biggest growth (3.6%), followed by agricultural loans (2.6%), whereas consumer loans dropped by 8.3% and housing and adaptation loans went down by 0.8%.


The repayment of 10.5% of the total loans in Serbia was late at the end of May, 0.3 percentage points less than in June. The repayment of 13.4% of corporate loans, 13.5% of enterprise loans and 5.9% of retail loans was late.
