"AIG Life osiguranje" obtained work permit - world's largest group in Serbia

National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has issued work permit to Stock company for life insurance "AIG Life osiguranje".

According to the announcement, majority owner of "AIG Life osiguranje" from Belgrade is "American Life Insurance Company" from the United States, and the CEO is Spiridon Moskojanis.

As NBS points out, it is the insurance company that operates as a part of "American International Group" (AIG), the world's largest business group in field of insurance.

This group is present in more than 100 countries through subordinate companies and its stocks are listed on the world's largest stock exchanges. According to NBS, total insurance premiums issued in 2007, at the level of the whole business group AIG, exceeds 58 billion USD.

Strategic aim of that business group in Serbian market is to develop life insurance services

As NBS points out, having in mind the size and importance of business group AIG in the world, founding of company "AIG Life osiguranje" can be considered one of the significant foreign investments in Serbia's financial system.
