Ralph Fiennes at Belgrade Philharmonic

(Ralph Fiennes with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra) The Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra has been provided with an honor to record the music for the new movie about Rudolf Nureyev by the famous British actor and director Ralph Fiennes, the Philharmonic announced. Fiennes attended the first day of the recording, causing excitement among the members of the orchestra. The renowned actor thanked the Belgrade Philharmonic for taking part in the important project he had been preparing for a long time.

– Three years after its first performance at the Carnegie Hall, the Belgrade Philharmonic is returning to the American market, together with Ralph Fiennes, heading straight for Hollywood. That sounds pretty cinematic, you have to admit. This is a great pleasure of mine, not just for us to be a part of this prestigious international production, which was agreed at our big open air concert this June, but also because I can see that the tax exemptions for movie producers, adopted by the Government during my mandate as the minister of culture and information, are producing results, making Serbia an increasingly attractive film destination – said Ivan Tasovac, director of the Belgrade Philharmonic.

The score for the life story of the greatest ballet dancer of all time will include the Belgrade Philharmonic’s performances of renowned works by Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev and Minkus, arranged by Ilan Eshkeri and conducted by Andy Brown, the Music Director of the London Metropolitan Orchestra.
