First Serbian robots coming from Srem - "ICM Electronics" started construction of new factory
In village of Platičevo, in Municipality of Ruma, the foundation stone has been laid for construction of the factory for production and assembling of robot lines "ICM Electronics". Production in that factory should start at the end of year 2008.
- It is estimated that the initial investments in the first Serbian robot factory in this year will amount to about 1m EUR - P.R.A agency announced.
Factory "ICM Electronics" in Platičevo will occupy more than 1,000 square meters and it will include the workshop for production and assembling of robot lines and the administrative building. According to the plan, the production unit will be designing robot cells and robot systems for various purposes.
The foundation stone was laid by the Ambassador of Japan to Serbia, Tadashi Nagai, the CEO of company "Fanuc" for European market, Lionel Mercou, and the CEO of "ICM Electronics", Dragan Mićić.
The Assistant to the Minister of Science and Technological Development, Miroslav Vesković, said that it was important for science to serve as the stimulus for technological development, as well as that private initiatives, with the adequate support from the state, contribute to development of science with their practical examples.
The CEO of "ICM Electronics", Dragan Mićić, said that the construction of the factory would create preconditions for that company to meet the growing demand for automation and use of robots in Serbia.
- Our aim is to become the leaders not only in Serbia, but also to compete in Europe with our intellectual skills of efficient integration system and latest solutions of our engineers. We are getting ready for European market - said he.
