Belgrade to get half marathon as well – Premiere of 10- and 21-km races on December 3

In addition to the traditional marathon, Belgrade will also get its half marathon, which will premiere on December 3, 2017.

– After 30 years of the Belgrade Marathon, a new sports spectacle will be organized in the capital of Serbia. This way, Belgrade is getting closer to other big cities worldwide, from Budapest to Prague, New York and Chicago, which already have half marathon races in their calendars – Mayor Sinisa Mali pointed out and thanked the organizer of the race, the company Belgrade Marathon, for their perseverance.

He expressed pleasure over the fact that another racing event would be organized in Serbia’s capital and invited the people of Belgrade to join the event and send an image of sport and health to the world.

– The first Belgrade half marathon will contain two races, Belgrade 21 and Belgrade 10, enabling a large number of our fellow citizens to race for 21 kilometers or, if they are less prepared, 10 kilometers. When it comes to the starting and finishing lines, there’s a surprise coming, aiming to promote the highlights of the capital of Serbia in line with the global tradition – said Dejan Nikolic, director of the Belgrade Marathon.
