Germania Flug to stop flying from Nis on January 8

Even though the plan was for Germania Flug to continue conducting flights throughout the upcoming winter season, with potential flights in the next summer season even, the Swiss airline decided to cancel further flights from Nis after January 8, 2017, the Fly from Nis portal reports.

In fact, the flights will stop as early as October 27, when the summer flight schedule officially ends.

The media representative of Germania Flug, Simon Benz, says that they decided to make this step for economic reasons. According to Benz, the line will be reactivated during the New Year's holidays due to an increased demand.

Benz also said that, for the time being, Germania Flug was not thinking about establishing new air routes to other cities in either Switzerland or Germany.

All things considered, SWISS seems to have “won” in the fight for passengers on flights to Zurich. This national airline previously announced that, starting with next year's summer season, they would fly from Nis three times a week.

SWISS offers a large number of lines through Zurich throughout Europe and the world to passengers from Nis. As for the connections to Switzerland, in addition to SWISS' flight to Zurich, passengers also have the option of the flight to Basel provided by the low-cost airline Wizz Air.

Germania Flug established a regular, direct line between Zurich and Nis on June 23, 2017, with two flights a week.
