Žarko Maletin, project manager of the German Technical Cooperation GTZ GmbH in Serbia and founder of Vojvodina Investment Promotion Fund– VIP Fond has won prestigious Chevening scholarship for MBA studies at the University of Cambridge.
- MBA – „Master of Business Administration“ has evolved from the US concept of „educating business elite with significant work experience“ - through the globalisation processes - to „global school of leadership, aiming to fulfilling the needs of businesses for top management all around the world“. For the fact that it opens doors to the knowledge and contacts ruling the global economy, MBA is the most popular and most competent postgraduate programme globally – in average 13 do 16% of applicants to the Top MBA schools manage to actually enrol them.
"Exactly these are the knowledge and information that this country and management practice miss, for the further development of our society“ – stresses Maletin, making a comment that „it is a pity that more of professional management in Serbia does not recognize the importance of further education and specialisation through top MBA schools in the world“.
Speaking about the quality and ranking of MBA at University of Cambridge, Judge Business School, Žarko Maletin says that evaluation of this kind of education is made by global business magazines and newspaper, like Financial times, Economist and Forbes-a.
- Magazine Economist has ranked Cambridge – Judge Business School 7., Forbes 8. and Financial times 10. among 1000 MBA programmes around the world – he says.
The overall costs of studying Cambridge MBA Programme are about 85.000 EUR (the costs of average Master Programme in UK is 14.000 EUR) and they are dictated by the costs of eminent lectures which are transferring the best and most recent knowledge. This is a significant investment, but it is justified by the statistics of the University after which the post-MBA salaries are almost three times those of pre-MBA engagement levelled between 120.000 to 166.000 USD.
Žarko Maletin says that he is, in the first place, thankful to the Government of United Kingdom, the Embassy of United Kingdom in Belgrade and British Council for the scholarship, with which he will finance the studies. Namely, Maletin has won this years prestigious Chevening scholarship, which is being awarded by Government of United Kingdom once a year and where he was the first on the list of winning candidates in Serbia.
