The Government of Serbia is discussing new investments with Siemens and is ready to support them, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated on Wednesday, September 27, 2017.

She said on the occasion of marking 130 years of the company's operations in Serbia that they had realized numerous important infrastructural and energy projects with the Government up till then and that Siemens was an example of a socially responsible company.

She reminded that they employed 1,600 people in Serbia, of which 1,400 in the production department of the factory in Subotica.

– I know that each third wind turbine in Europe is powered by a generator produced in Subotica, so each third wind turbine is produced by workers from Serbia, and the resulting power is sufficient for around 25 million households – the prime minister said.

According to Brnabic, Siemens also takes part in projects of importance for Serbia, such as dual education, and the company's involvement in digitization and technological innovations has also been planned.

Udo Eichlinger, CEO of Siemens Serbia, said that the company planned new investments in Serbia in cooperation with the Government of Serbia and added that numerous projects of Siemens in Serbia stimulated the economic growth of the country.

– In keeping up with global trends, we focus on promoting digitization and digital solutions – he said.

The gathering was also attended by Ambassador of Germany to Serbia Axel Dittmann.

Siemens has been present in Serbia since 1887, when the agreement on the construction of the first public thermal power plant in Dorcol, Belgrade, was signed. In 1996, Siemens d.o.o. Belgrade was founded.

Siemens is active in the fields of production, transfer and distribution of energy, production of solutions for the oil and gas market, transport and infrastructure and medical equipment.
