Boreli seeking new lessee – Ad for usage of production capacities placed

The Sombor-based footwear factory Boreli in bankruptcy is looking for a new lessee, which would carry out the production in its facilities.

The Bankruptcy Supervision Agency published an ad for the contract on the business and technical cooperation regarding the usage of the factory's production capacities in Politika's issue of September 29.

Sombor's Boreli has been in the spotlight these days, as the Belgrade-based company Darfur, which signed an agreement on business and technical cooperation with this footwear factory in May, has terminated the agreement and ceased the production.

Pavel Severini, the bankruptcy trustee of Boreli, who was not available for comment, told Belgrade media several days ago that the management of the Belgrade-based company had notified him that they would no longer produce footwear in the factory and that Darfur had met its obligations related to the lease. There are interested parties for a further lease of the factory, he said, among which are foreign companies as well. He didn't, however, specify the names of these companies.

At the same time, Darfur denied the allegations by the workers that 130 of them had been laid off, that they are owed a salary and a half and four months worth of contributions, and, according to media, they also sent a letter of intent for renewing the lease contract with Boreli and continuing the production on September 21.

The name of the company which might revive the production in the Sombor footwear factory, at least for a while, will be known on October 12 at the earliest, as the opening of bids is scheduled for that date, which is also the bid submission deadline.

As stated in the ad, the bidder obliges to carry out the production process in the location of the bankruptcy debtor and to hire at least 50 persons who were employed at the legal predecessor of the bankruptcy debtor on the date of March 15, 2017, over a period of 3 months.

The agreement on business and technical cooperation is signed for a period of time until the conditions for the sale have met, in line with the decision by the bankruptcy trustee regarding the manner and the terms of the monetization of the property.
