Italian metal processing company Promek to expand business and increase number of employees in Velika Plana

(From the anniversary celebration in Velika Plana) The Promek factory in Velika Plana will employ another ten workers in the upcoming period, and they also plan to expand the production facilities, Luca Nanetti, director of Promek, told eKapija on October 5. The Italian company, which deals in precision processing of metal and sheet metal, celebrated ten years of activities in Velika Plana yesterday.
– From now on, 70 people will be working in one shift at our two facilities here, and in the upcoming period, we first plan to introduce the second shift, and then the third one – Nanetti explained.
He added that the expansion of the production entailed the expansion of the facility in the upcoming period as well, but didn’t specify the exact capacities.
Components produces in Velika Plana are exported by Promek to its parent company, SIPLA, which has been active in Bologna for 40 years now. The parts are then assembled into machines used in the packing industry.
They have been active in Velika Plana since 2007, when the first facility opened, whereas the second one began operating two years ago. The raw materials are imported from Italy, Nanetti explained.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the company opened PromekLAB, a technical lab at the Nikola Tesla Technical School in Velika Plana. They also signed an agreement with the school on a program of paid practice in the period of 40 days for the best senior class students. Last summer, the production facilities of Promek served as practical classrooms for the first group of student-interns.
