Aelius only company to submit all necessary documents for privatization of Galenika – Opening of bids on October 26

The commission for carrying out the procedure of the sale of the capital of Galenika AD Belgrade has reached the decision suggesting to the Ministry of Economy to approve further participation in the process to Aelius Luxembourg and reject the application by Amicus SRB doo Belgrade, the ministry reported on Friday, October 20, 2017.

As added, the opening of the financial bid by Aelius Luxembourg has been scheduled for Thursday, October 26, 2017.

– The commission reached the decision at today’s session, after examining the amended documentation and determining that Aelius Luxembourg (related to EMS S/A Brazil) meets the qualification terms in line with the Public Invitation, whereas Amicus SRB doo Belgrade (related to HBM Switzerland investment fund) has failed to submit the required documentation – the statement says.

Let us remind that these two companies were the only ones to submit bids at the tender for the sale of 93.7% of Galenika’s capital, at the initial price of EUR 1 with the purchaser’s obligation to pay an additional EUR 25 million to cover the company’s banking debts, placed by the Ministry of Serbia on September 1.

An attempt at the privatization of Galenika fell through early this year due to the failure to reach an agreement on the takeover of Galenika’s debts towards commercial banks with the potential strategic partner, the Russian-British consortium Frontier-Petrovax.
