Import of radio and telecommunication equipment facilitated

The import of certain radio and telecommunication equipment will no longer require the acquisition of certificates of compatibility beginning with October 20, 2017, which will accelerate the traffic of goods of this type and allow importers to make financial savings, said state secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Tatjana Matic.

The decision by the Government of Serbia on designating the goods the import and export of which require the acquisition of certain certificates has lead to the deletion of around 40% of tariff headings.

The state secretary explained that the deleted tariff headings pertained to over 35% of the issued certificates for radio and telecommunication equipment in the previous year.

Matic added that the goods the import of which will no longer require the said certificates of compatibility included video conference sets, antennas and antenna reflectors, certain printers, photocopiers, sound reproduction and recording devices, certain types of screens...

– The goods encompassed by the deleted tariff headings remain subject to control by market supervision organs upon entrance to the market, that is, upon usage in Serbia – Matic said.

She emphasized that, for the purpose of a clearer and more transparent procedure, unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), had been divided into several tariff headings.

The said decision was published in the Official Gazette on October 13 and came into effect on the eight day from the date of the publication.
