In the first seven days since its opening, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade has been visited by 39,854 people, exceeding all expectations, as the management says.

The museum has been open 24 hours a day in the first week, and the management has extended the free entrance period until Monday, October 30, as a sign of gratitude.

– Thursday, October 26, was the record day, with 9,776 visitors, and the record-attendance night saw 1,500 people pass through the museum between midnight and 8 am. Our impressions are still fresh – the acting director, Slobodan Nakarada, said at a press conference.

When asked about the amount of money set aside for the reconstruction of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Nakarada said that the investment was worth RSD 598 million, but that the exact amount of funds spent form 2007 was not yet known.

After the free entrance period expires, the museum will charge RSD 300 for the ticket, whereas faculty and high school students, pupils and pensioners will have to set aside RSD 150. Group visits will cost RSD 200.

The regular working hours are 10 am till 6 pm (10 pm on Thursdays). The museum is closed on Tuesdays.
