4K video content soon on Facebook

Facebook officials have confirmed that they are testing support for upload and reproduction of 4K videos, based on the 2160p UHD-1 Ultra-High-Definition Television standard.
The 4K support has been available on other platforms, such as YouTube, for a long time now, and, for now, only certain pages and profiles are able to access the option of uploading and playing 4K videos.
Support for 4K suits Facebook's current strategy, which is oriented towards featuring longer videos and focusing on original video content.
The company has recently presented the Watch Tab, intended to highlight content of this kind.
