(Goran Trivan and Alexander Chepurin) Minister Goran Trivan and Ambassador of Russia to Serbia Alexander Chepurin talked about enhancing the cooperation in the field of environmental protection on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, in Belgrade, and, as the Serbian ministry's cabinet reported, Russia is prepared to help Serbia in solving numerous issues in this field.
Trivan and Chepurin agreed that one of the important topics at the Intergovernmental Serbian-Russian Committee for Commercial, Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation, which is to be held in late 2017 in Belgrade, should be environmental protection, in which Russia has shown considerable interest during the recently held preparatory meeting in Moscow. In the upcoming period, the two sides will exchange their experts, which will agree on the topics to be considered at the committee.
– Projects are of crucial importance, because, if there are no projects, there are no investments either. It is necessary to invest in projects of environmental protection, and this field also provides unlimited possibilities of cooperation, and we have a strong will and experts. Ecology is not a matter of politics, but of better living – Minister Trivan said.
There was also talk about strengthening the cooperation between academic, scientific and professional institutions in this field.
– Cooperation with other states which are successful in the field of environmental protection is necessary for the purpose of transferring experiences, knowledge and investments in order to turn Serbia into an environmentally strong state – Trivan emphasized.
Ambassador Chepurin also relayed the invitation by Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Sergey Donskoy to Minister Trivan to visit the 2nd international exhibit-forum EKOTEH, which will be held this December in Moscow.
