– Some member-states agreed to have the chapter opened the same day, without any complaints – the source emphasizes.
The European Commission is also bringing preparations for Chapter 13 (Fisheries) to a close, and the working group has been developing its position regarding Chapter 6 (Company Law), Chapter 30 (External Relations) and Chapter 33 (Financial and Budgetary Provisions) for weeks.
The daily writes that their source emphasizes that the negotiations are progressing at the usual pace and that everything is expected to be ready in time for the Intergovernmental Conference at which the chapters are to be opened and which, according to Novosti's findings, should be organized on December 11 or 12.
It is said that there are no technical obstacles, but that certain member-states are waiting to first familiarize themselves with the contents of the periodical EC report on the rule of law in Serbia, the publication of which has been announced for November.
– A great majority of the members already agree, and the number exceeds 20 of the total of 28 members – the source explains.
According to the estimates of Novosti's source from the EU Council, it is realistic for Serbia to open three to five new chapters in December, the daily reports.
Let us remind that Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic announced earlier that Serbia might open at least five new chapters in the negotiations with the EU in December.
