The German company Miele is to build another washing machine plant. The new factory will be located in the German town of Ksawerow, a few kilometers away from Lodz.

Following successful negotiations about the purchase of land, the beginning of the construction in Ksawerow is planned for the first half of 2018, the company says in its press release.

– The region offers a long-standing industrial tradition, with experienced specialists and a rich network of potential suppliers and cooperation partners – commented Dr Stefan Breit, Miele Group's Chief Technology Officer, on the choice of location, which provides excellent logistics as well, thanks to the proximity of the highway between Berlin and Warsaw and one of the biggest and most modern rail cargo storages.

The beginning of the production in this factory has been contracted for 2020, and the plan is to employ 350 workers in three shifts and an annual capacity of 250,000 washing machines. Miele announces investments in the amount exceeding EUR 50 million in the first phase of the expansion, the press release says.

This global producer of premium household appliances is present in Serbia as well, with the first local showroom opened in 2012.
