Turkey to aid construction of new Maternity Home in Zvecanska Center

The construction of the new Maternity Home at the Center for Protection of Babies, Children and Youth in the Zvecanska Street is to be financed by the Government of Turkey through its Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA). The realization of this project is the result of the protocol of cooperation signed by the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy of Serbia and TIKA, the ministry announced.

As stated, Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy Zoran Djordjevic, Ambassador of Turkey to Serbia Tanju Bilgic and representatives of TIKA visited the Maternity Home at the Zvecanksa Center.

The director of the center, Zoran Milacic, informed Minister Djordjevic and Ambassador Bilgic about the realization of the project of construction of the new Maternity Home, which will accommodate women in pregnancy and mother with children.


Minister Djordjevic said that the visit to the Maternity Home marked the beginning of the realization of the signed protocol on cooperation between the ministry and TIKA.

According to him, the reconstruction of the Maternity Home is another step towards enhancing the cooperation between Serbia and Turkey, which will continue in the upcoming period, the press release says.
