Quality standards increasingly more important asset in global market – CCIS supporting projects of improving competitiveness

The Chamber of Commerce of Serbia is ready to get involved in projects of raising competitiveness and help everybody who wants to catch up with the developed world in the field of quality management, said adviser to the president of the CCIS, Miroslav Miletic.

At the gathering held on Friday, December 1, 2017, at the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, called Presentation of Communication and Realization of the Operating Programs of EOQ and EFQM (European organizations for quality) and Their Implementation in Serbia, Miletic said that one should look up to the best and seek help and support from European associations for quality and business excellence in transfer of knowledge and implementation and raising awareness of the importance of the Quality Management System (QMS), says the official website of the CCIS.

QMS is the way an organization defines its direction and manages business activities related to quality.

Miletic believes that business associations within the region of the Western Balkans (The Chamber Investment Forum) should be brought together around the concept of QMS as the key factor in competitiveness, innovation, cooperation, export and a consistent quality across all markets.

He said that, for example, Albania had 315 ISO 9001 certificates, that B&H had 1,037, Croatia 2,659, Montenegro 92, Serbia 3,017, Slovenia 1,848, the Czech Republic 10,568, Germany 66,233 and Italy 150,143.

The Association of Quality Management and Business Excellence of Serbia organized this gathering of business people and specialists in the field of quality standards, and the president of the association, Jovo Lojanica, said that the association looked to reach modern business standards in the country.

Lojanica said that focus needed to be placed on three types of growth – knowledge-based growth, sustainable growth and inclusive growth.

The gathering at the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia was held within the marking of the European month of quality.
