Zeljko Cvijan, Manager of Yazaki Sabac, announced that the plant, which currently has 600 employees, would expand its capacities and employ another 1,000 people, Blic reports.

– We plan to employ another 1,000 workers in the next seven or eight months. Together with representatives of the City of Sabac, we will prepare a plan of direct visits to municipalities in the Macva Ragion, where we will organize presentations of Yazaki and introduce potential workers to the working conditions in the company. We expect to reach new workers this way – Cvijan explained.

Yazaki is the biggest Japanese greenfield investment in Serbia. The plant was raised on 6.85 ha in the industrial zone in Sabac. The state provided EUR 10.2 million for this investment, and another EUR 2.4 million was set aside from the city budget for infrastructural equipping.

The Japanese company was founded in 1929. It operates in 46 countries, employs around 290,000 workers and produces and distributes electrical systems and electronic instruments for the automotive industry, cooperating with the most renowned motor vehicle manufacturers.
