CNN deems Serbia second tourist destination in 2018

CNN has pronounced Serbia the second tourist destination to be visited in 2018, the Tourism Organization of Serbia (TOS) announced on December 30, 2017.

A multitude of activities carried out by the TOS in 2017, pertaining to an intensive promotional and marketing campaign in global tourism markets, have contributed to this. Promotional videos were broadcast on BBC World and Eurosport, and the 30-second promo clip was shown over 600 times in Europe and the USA.

Focusing on the summer and the winter tourist seasons, the activities were accompanied by digital promotion on these networks' portals.

Promotional activities continued on the British TV Channel 5, and videos showing the tourist attractions of Serbia are currently being shown on the Travel Channel.

Articles and features were published in Britain's Guardian and Independent, the USA's Vogue and Conde Nast Traveler, Italy's La Repubblica and Corriere della Sera, the Russian edition of National Geographic and Komsomolskaya Pravda, France's Madame Figaro and Le Parisien, Germany's Freie Presse, Hamburger Abendblatt and Berliner Morgenpost, and a radio campaign has been conducted on BBC Radio 4 and Radio 6.

The TOS also organized numerous special presentations and events, promotions and workshops for business partners, as well as study tours for 140 foreign journalists from renowned media companies such as the New York Times, Vogue, USA Today, National Geographic and Chicago Tribune.

The study visit of American bloggers to Serbia, as well as activities related to this visit on blogs and social networks, led to the 61st annual gold award Adrian for the Balkan Blogger Bash campaign.
