Novi Sad IT sector to begin cooperating with Russian technology park

The director of Schneider Electric DMS, Dragan Popovic, stated on Friday, January 12, 2018, that the Novi Sad IT sector would soon start cooperating with the biggest developmental technology park in Russia, located in Skolkovo, with the help of the minister without a portfolio in charge of innovation and technological development.

– The minister has good connections in this technology park, which is very interested in cooperating with the Novi Sad technology park and I believe that there will be a concrete agreement with them very soon – Popovic said.

The director of DMS said on the occasion of the visit of Nenad Popovic, the minister without portfolio in charge of innovation and technological development, to Schneider Electric DMS, that similar agreements with American, Canadian and European universities were also planned.

– Technology transfer is really a requirement for the expansion of this truly big exporting potential. Foreign companies are asking for resources educated in Novi Sad in particular. This is a great success of our educational system at the University of Novi Sad – Dragan Popovic pointed out.

According to him, this is the exporting potential of Novi Sad and Serbia, but their efforts would truly be crowned if the IT sector were to export a product, not people.

– Everyone in the country would live better in that case, and this is the next step, which a small number of companies have managed to take. We are fully transparent and our operations and legal and in line with the regulations, and it is especially important to try to multiply those operations – Popovic said and added that he hoped that the minister's visit is a step in that direction.

He added that the exports of Schneider Electric DMS had amounted to around EUR 40 million in 2017, and the number could reach 65 to 70 million in 2018, according to projections and the jobs contracted.
