Minnie Mouse gets Hollywood Walk of Fame star after 90 years

After 90 years of watching numerous male characters and Disney princesses getting ahead of her, Minnie Mouse finally got her Hollywood Walk of Fame star on January 22, 2018.

The character of Minnie Mouse first appeared in 1928's Steamboat Willie. Her partner, Mickey Mouse, got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame back in 1978.

It took another 40 years for Minnie, who has appeared in over 70 animated films, to join him.

– In true Hollywood fashion, she delivered a memorable performance but Mickey got all the credit – Walt Disney Co Chief Executive Bob Iger said at the ceremony unveiling the 2,627th star.

– After 90 years in show business, it’s certainly about time you got your star – Iger said.
