The Dimitrovgrad-based company E.Mirolio, which bought the Pirot-based factory AHA Mura Prvi Maj in late October 2017, has started producing female clothing at the factory and employed 135 workers.

The plan is to increase the number of employees. The halls of this once famous clothing plant are once again active. The factory's director, Todor Georgijev, reminds in his statement for Danas that the production began on January 15.

– We will employ around 80 workers more in early February. Furthermore, we are to begin reconstructing the halls 2 and 3, which require an overhaul of the rather dilapidated infrastructure. This is a considerable investment. After the reconstruction, we plan to employ new workers in these halls as well. The plan is for around 600 workers, maybe even up to a thousand, to be employed here in the upcoming period – Georgijev said and clarified that female clothing for the Dika brand, which has existed for 25 years, would be sewn there.

– The plan is for the plants in Dimitrovgrad and Pirot to merge and for the seat to be located in Pirot. The workers are looking forward to the beginning of the production in this plant – Georgijev says.

Let us remind that the Italian company E.Miroglio bought the Pirot-based factory AHA Mura Prvi Maj in bankruptcy for RSD 200 million at the public auction on October 27, 2017. The company was the sole bidder, as it was the only one to meet the requirements by paying the deposit of RSD 126.2 million and providing a bank guarantee.

The Pirot-based textile factory was sold at the sixth attempt only, and it used to employ 1,300 workers prior to the bankruptcy in 2015.
