"Porr" and "Siemens" to modernize Batajnica-Golubinci railway - signing of contract on November 7
Public company Serbian Railways announced that it would sign 23.4m EUR worth of contract with companies "Porr" and "Siemens" on modernization of Batajnica-Golubinci railway on November 7, 2008.
As the Railways announced, the works will be financed by European Investment Bank through program "Refurbishment of Railways II".
Austrian "Porr" will carry out 19.4m EUR worth of construction works on the railway, while German "Siemens", Zagreb-based "Dalekovod" and "Yugotrade" from Belgrade will deliver equipment and supplies worth 4m EUR.
Batajnica-Golubinci railway section is a part of Belgrade-Šid railway, which is on pan-European "Corridor 10".
European Investment Bank approved the loan of 80m EUR to "Serbian Railways" for modernization of railway tracks on "Corridor 10". That money will be spent on overhaul of 93 km of railway tracks on the following sections: Ćele kula-Staničenje, Batajnica-Golubinci and Gilje-Ćuprija-Paraćin.
