(Zorana Mihajlovic) The priorities of Serbia in the transportation sector are the completion of Corridors 10 and 11, modernization and reconstruction of the railway Corridor 10, primarily the Belgrade-Budapest railway and the Nis-Dimitrovgrad railway, the construction of the Nis-Merdare-Pristina “peace highway” and a further development of air and river transport.
Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic talked with Fadrique Alvarez de Toledo, director of Brussels Research Group, which is preparing a report and an investment guide to Serbia, about Serbia's priorities in the field of road and railway transport, regional connecting and attracting foreign investors.
As the ministry announced, the strategic goal of Serbia is to join the European Union, and all reforms and laws are adopted in line with European standards.
– Our goal is to establish infrastructural connections with our neighbors and further, with European countries, as this benefits the development of our national economies and regional cooperation. We want to help the entire region to move forward, to create a good investment climate, not just in Serbia, but in the Western Balkans countries as well – the minister said.
Fadrique Alvarez de Toledo praised Serbia's achievements in the field of transport and its progress on the World Bank's Doing Business list and pointed out that Serbia was on the right path to attracting new investments.
Brussels Research Group published data about developing economies, business, foreign policy and global topics and their reports are used by influential business people and investors.
The Serbia Investment Guide will be presented before the EU – Western Balkans summit, to be held this May in Sofia.
