Serbian cities and regions on European list of the future – Financial Times praises investment potential

In its February-March issue, the fDI service of the London-based publication, which performs analyses related to direct foreign investments, ranked nearly 500 cities and 150 regions on the said list, encompassing locations in Europe with potential for long-term investments.
On the top 10 list of small European cities of the future for the said period by strategies for direct foreign investments, Nis placed seventh.
Using the same criteria, Nis placed third as a region on the list of top 10 small European regions for 2018/19.
fDi places Belgrade in the fourth spot on the list of 10 big European cities of the future by cost efficiency, whereas the list of large cities in Europe that the FT service deems the best for doing business in features the capital of Serbia in the ninth spot.
Vranje, Zajecar, Sremska Mitrovica, Zrenjanin and Sombor placed sixth to tenth on the list of top 10 European microcities of the future by cost efficiency.
Also, Zrenjanin placed eighth on the list of top 10 microcities in Europe by business conditions, whereas Sabac is among the top 10 of European microcities by strategies for direct foreign investments.
The British publication ranks the Srem District seventh among the small European regions of the future when it comes to cost efficiency.
A special section is dedicated to Sabac, emphasizing that the city had good traffic connections and that it is the biggest industrial zone in the region.
