Uber's flying taxi to arrive in several years

Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber, stated that the commercialization of the company's flying taxi service would take place in the next five to 10 years.

The U.S. ride-hailing app maker said that he expected flying vehicles to become an affordable method of mass transportation in time.

Khosrowshahi made these statements during his speech at an investor forum in Tokyo on his first visit to Asia as Uber CEO.

Ride-hailing companies such as Uber see Japan as a potentially lucrative market and are pressing regulators to ease stringent rules governing the taxi industry.
