Center for Russian Studies opens at University of Belgrade

The Center for Russian Studies opened this Sunday (February 25, 2018) at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade, the website of the Government of Serbia reports.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic attended the opening of the Center for Russian Studies.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the opening between the Faculty of Political Sciences and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).

The memorandum was signed by the dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences, Professor Dragan R. Simic and Evgeny Kozhokin, vice-rector for scientific affairs of MGIMO.

Dacic pointed out that the opening of the center coincided with the celebration of the 180th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Russia.


According to him, the talks that were had were dominated by the orientation towards maintaining strong ties with Russia, as the citizens of Serbia could see directly during the visit of the Foreign Minister of Russia.

Dacic said that he was pleased that the Center for Russian Studies had opened and pointed out that he expected the center to set ambitious goals, plans and activities in order to establish adequate authority within the scientific community of Serbia and Europe.
