The Turkish bank thereby continued the process of investments in Serbia, which started with the purchase of 76.75% of the shares from the EBRD, the IFC and the Republic of Serbia in May 2015 and continued with an increase in capital by EUR 10 million in November 2015.
After an additional purchase of shares in the stock exchange in August and the offer for the takeover of the remaining stake in September, followed by a forced share buyback and the latest capital increase, the majority owner currently holds 99.94% of the total capital of Halkbank Belgrade.
The bank currently has 23 branches and 9 offices, 78 ATMs and 450 employees.
As the bank says, their aim is to be “a bank which supports and finances the growth and the development of the local economy, while also being a safe place for the clients' savings deposits”.
