Tour-operators from China visit Serbia

The Tourism Organization of Serbia (TOS) organized a visit of a group of Chinese tour-operators to Serbia from March 11 through 15, in cooperation with the European Travel Commission (ETC) and to the end of promoting 2018 EU-China Year of Tourism (ECTY), the TOS announced.

During their stay, the guests from China visited the Manasija Monastery, Zlatibor and Mokra Gora, Topola, Sremski Karlovci, Novi Sad and Belgrade and learned about the natural resources and the rich cultural heritage, while enjoying food specialties.

ECTY was initiated on January 19, 2018, in Venice. The initiative, agreed at the EU summit in China in 2017, supports the development of new and improved travel routes by promoting intercultural understanding and upgrade of travel and tourist experience.

ECTY will encompass a range of campaigns through public-private partnerships, business summits and business meetings for tourism operators financed through the COSME program.

According to the ETC 11/2017 Barometer, Chinese tourists will spend more in Europe than travelers from other overseas markets, which is very important for Serbia as a tourist market.

In order for Serbia to successfully join the itineraries of Chinese tour-operators in 2018 as well, the TOS held meetings with the tourism sector and local tour-operators during this visit, it is said.
