Bitumen filling process at Pancevo Refinery automatized

Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) has completed the modernization of the bitumen loading system at the Pancevo Oil Refinery, and the project, in which around RSD 100 million was invested, will increase the employee safety and contribute to an enhancement of environmental protection.

The reconstruction and the modernization of the car and rail filling facility and a part of the reservoir facility have secured full automatization of the process of filling and shipping of bitumen, NIS announced.

The most modern equipment, including modern computer software, which secures maximum reliability of shipment, has been installed as part of this investment.

Nearly all operations – from the arrival of the means of transport to the filling site, through the filling itself, defining the amounts and the temperatures, to the departure of the vehicle – are now carried out through digital commands, the press release says.
