At the conference “Macroeconomic and Fiscal Framework for Successful Implementation of One Belt – One Road Initiative”, Vujovic also said that Serbia remained dedicated to the initiative in order to complete the initiated infrastructural projects and become a competitive country in the Balkans on its road to Europe.

The aim of the initiative is to promote dialogue about economic policies, accelerate international cooperation in the field of infrastructure, commerce and finance and attract significant resources from China and other sources, including the private sector, in order to enhance the development of infrastructure, which is the basis for a sustainable growth.

Vujovic agreed with the main points from the speech of Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and emphasized the importance of not just the efficiency in the exploitation of resources, but also of being effective in achieving the desired developmental goals.

In that context, he said that good preparation and efficient and quick realization of projects and the leaning on the competitive potential of numerous companies in China were important.

The gathering in Beijing was attended by the leading ministers and governors of central banks from Europe and the world, politicians and representatives of international financial institutions, and it was opened by the governor of the People's Bank of China, Yi Gang, and Managing Director of the IMF, Christine Lagarde.
