First patients in Oncology 2 in Belgrade from June

The new facility of the Institute for oncology and radiology, 'Oncology 2' has been built and equipped and the first patients will be received in about three weeks. Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic visited the Institute on Sunday, May 13, 2018 and pointed out that EUR 6, 5 million have been invested in equipment only and EUR 2 million in construction.

'Oncology 2' will have two new linear accelerators and a space for patients as well as professors and student occupying over 1,200 m2.

In about three weeks Oncology 2 will receive its first patients, and this building will primarily be used for radiotherapy, RTS reports.

With those plans being carried out, the staff also went through training, there were new residency subsidies and the doctors did a training course in Japan.
