Realization of Toennies investment to start on November 1, 2018 – Construction of first pig farm to take place next spring

Serbian Minister of Agriculture Branislav Nedimovic stated on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, that the right of first refusal of the lease of state-owned agricultural land for the company Toennies had been issued for the period beginning with November 1, 2018, when agriculturists on the territory of Kikinda and Zrenjanin would also be able to get land for farming based on an auction.

– I'm not sure how Toennies could come in earlier, since they have the right of first refusal only from November 1. No problems should arise there, the investment will be realized on three farms and in the processing industry – Nedimovic said at the 85th International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad.

As he announced, the Toennies investment will start being realized on November 1, and the construction of the first farm will begin in the spring of 2019.

– Year by year, three farms, and finally, one slaughterhouse, will be built – Nedimovic added.
