Serbia has several potential locations for gas storage
The CEO of "Srbijagas", Dušan Bajatović, said that
Serbia had opportunity to build minimum 2 regional gas storages – in Banatski
Dvor and in Mokrin.
He said to the press in the Parliament of Serbia that 21.8m EUR was needed for
completion of gas storage Banatski Dvor whose capacity would enable infusion of
3m cubic meters of gas a day, that is, 5m cubic meters of gas a day at the time
of crisis.
Bajatović said that gas storage could also be built in Mokrin and he pointed
out that there were few more locations in Serbia that could be used for that
purpose.
- If a serious thought is given to it, Serbia could become a regional storage operator with 5-7 billion cubic meters of gas, which means that we could become a dominant player in the region – said he.
