First Serbian robot factory in Platičevo, near Ruma, to be put in operation in February
Novi Sad-based company "ICM Electronics" will soon finish
construction of the first Serbian factory for production and assembling of
robot lines in Platičevo, near Ruma. Production in this factory should start at
the end of February.
The production unit and the administrative building of ICM will be built at over 1,000 square meters, and the initial investments in the first Serbian robot factory amounted to approximately 1m EUR in 2008.
- We are currently in one of the last phases that precede the opening of the factory. At this moment, gas and electricity utilities are being installed, which should be followed by installation of machines in the factory - Dragan Mićić, the CEO of ICM, pointed out.
The factory will include a workshop for production and assembling of robot lines and the administrative building. Free access to the hall will be granted only to the authorized persons, while the people in the administrative part of the building will be able to watch everything that happens in the factory through the glass.
The works on the factory in Platičevo commenced in September 2008. The foundation stone was laid by the Ambassador of Japan to Belgrade, Tadashi Nagai, and the CEO of ICM.
"ICM Electronics" has excellent cooperation in the domain of robotics with several world-famous manufacturers, such as Japanese "Fanuc" and "Omron" and Swedish "Motoman".
Construction of the factory is the result of long-time development of company "ICM Electronics", which has been dealing with automatization since it was founded and it started to deal with production process robotization in 2006 by establishing cooperation with the world's most famous manufacturers in field of industrial electronics and robotics.
