The Ministry of Economy placed a new tender today for the sale of a stake comprising 99.9% of the capital of Metanolsko-Sircetni Kompleks (MSK) Kikinda.

The capital offered has been evaluated at EUR 40.88 million, and the initial price is 50% of that amount – EUR 20.44 million.

The majority of the stake being sold, Tanjug reports, belongs to the PE Srbijagas (88.23%), followed by the Republic of Serbia (11.68%), the Development Fund of the Republic of Serbia (0.01%) and Akcionarski Fond a. d. Beograd (0.00109%).

Local and foreign companies producing organic chemicals and with revenues of at least EUR 150 million in the past business year may compete for the purchase of MSK.

Interested purchasers may apply by August 10, and the bids will be opened four days later.

No bids were made at the previous tender for the sale of MSK, and the documentation was bought only by the Cypriot holding Kronospan Chemical Ltd, which didn't submit a binding offer.

MSK Kikinda makes chemical products, methanol and acetic acid, and the production was initiated back in 1987.

MSK currently employs around 520 workers.
