Volkswagen has won the dispute against Prevent Group. On Wednesday, the District Court of Dortmund rejected the requested ban on the cancellation of contracts in the dispute between VW and its supplier TWB.

The contract of the Wolfsburg-based automotive giant with the Hagen-based company had expired, and TWB didn't want to accept this. TWB, as many other suppliers, belongs to Prevent Group.

Behind these legal disputes is a power struggle within the automotive industry, which has been going on for over two years.

A more pressing case than TWB at the moment is Neue Halberg Guss (NHG) from Saarbrucken, currently the site of the conflict. VW canceled the contracts with Prevent on the supply of goods, which should have been valid for a number of years, following which NHG raised its component prices massively.

Around 2,000 employees of NHG, however, fear that they might lose their jobs due to this dispute.

– There's great uncertainty among the NHG staff – says Patrick Selzer of IG Metall Saarbrucken, as reported by WELT.

Let us remind that the B&H media reported that Prevent might stop VW's production lines for the second time, Indikator.ba reports.

In the dispute between the two companies, which has been going on since 2016, Prevent Group put the German car giant to another test by increasing the price of the procurement contract by 1000%.

Soon after Prevent took over NHG, the company raised the price for its clients from the previously agreed EUR 90 million to EUR 900 million, the magazine says.

German media, as reported by those in B&H, write that this is dangerous for Volkswagen and that it might stop the production once again.
